However, two fishermen in Andhra Pradesh have died and one is still missing after strong waves caused five out of six fishermen in a boat in the sea to fall into the water. While three of them reached the shore and informed about other two having died, the one fisherman remaining on the boat is missing.
The alert was sounded after the department noticed that the deep depression over the Bay of Bengal intensified on Saturday.

For Monday, 11 districts— Raigad, Ratnagiri, Pune, Satara, Nasik, Parbhani, Latur, Hingoli, Nanded, Yavatmal, Gadchiroli are under orange alert indicating heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places and thunderstorms in ghat areas.Cyclone Gulab will begin its landfall process around Sunday evening, the India Meteorological Department said in its latest bulletin.
Chandrapur is under red alert on Monday, indicating extremely heavy rainfall over the district. Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and 17 other districts are likely to receive heavy rainfall, accompanied by gusty winds, thunderstorms and lightning in the ghat area.
Under the influence of the cyclonic storm Gulab, which is likely to make a landfall between Odisha and Andhra Pradesh coasts on Sunday evening, all 36 districts of Maharashtra are under heavy rain alert for Monday and Tuesday.
